Brian, Senior Financial Advisor & the Branch Manager, began his career in the financial industry at Ragen MacKenzie in 1996. He then worked as a licensed Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley before returning to Ragen MacKenzie to start his journey in Fixed Income trading. There, he specialized in trading Agency, Corporate, and Municipal Bonds, as well as CMO's and Mortgage Pass-Throughs for small institutional accounts.

Combining his expertise in professional Financial Advising for individuals with his experience in high-volume Bond trading for institutions, Brian co-founded EK Riley Investments in 2002. He poured his heart into creating a top-notch regional broker-dealer that provided advisors with the same level of support as a traditional wirehouse firm.

As President of EK Riley Investments, Brian managed all day-to-day operations, oversaw the Fixed Income/Bond Trading desk, and was responsible for risk management and supervising about 45 high-volume Financial Advisors serving high-net-worth individuals primarily in the Pacific Northwest.

To achieve a pleasant work-life balance, Brian has established, Rainier Pacific Investments LLC, a boutique investment practice dedicated to working hand in hand with clients to stay successful and feel financially secure in an ever-changing market.

In terms of specializing in the stock, bond, UIT, and mutual fund markets, Tom Schumaker is an experienced professional. As a Managing Partner, with over 35 years of experience, he is committed to helping his clients work towards their financial goals by utilizing a disciplined investment strategy.  His wealth of knowledge contributes to building solid client relationships based on integrity and service. 

Tom effectively assists his clients in working towards three financial goals:
1) Wealth accumulation during their working years,
2) Financial freedom and independence in their retirement and
3) Managing income taxes, and estate taxes when their accumulated wealth is passed on to their beneficiaries.

Tom was born and raised on a farm in Eastern Washington.  The experience of that commitment and hard work carried over to starting and building his own investment business from the ground up. He began his career in Seattle in 1983 and is currently located in Issaquah, WA.  Tom’s pledge to his clients is that he will do for them as he would do for himself in the same situation.

Tom earned his bachelor’s degree from Washington State University.  He enjoys golfing, boating and spending time with his wife and three children.

Outside of her professional life, Cari enjoys exploring the great outdoors with family and friends and skiing on some of the most scenic slopes in the Pacific Northwest.
